| Pricing: Regular classes: $10 drop-in, or 6 classes for $50 paid ahead. (6-class series to be completed within 3 months.) Private lessons are available at the rate of $35/hour or $50/hour-and-a-half Description of levels: Level 1: Students are either fresh beginners, practiced just a little bit of yoga before, or prefer to remain in a basic-level class. Primarily standing and seated poses, forward bends and twists, plus some beginning back bends are practiced. If you believe you're too stiff to come to a yoga class, THIS is the class for you. Level 2: Students are strong in the standing poses, and have practiced shoulderstand and some back bends. Students are ready to work on back bend pushing up from the floor (urdhva dhanurasana), head balance (sirsasana), full-arm balance / handstand (adho mukha vrksasana) and forearm balance (pinca mayurasana). Level 1&2: Level 1 students in this class will be given an alternative pose or modification if the class is working on a pose they're not ready for. If you find yourself in the "wrong" class, it'll be fun and experimental, and you won't be instructed to try anything you're not ready to. |

Preparation for class: For all classes, arrive at the studio early enough to get settled before the start time. Yoga asanas (poses) are learned and practiced in bare feet. Wear clothing that allows full range of movement, is modest, and is not so loose that the instructor can't discern your joint and muscle actions. Come to class with an empty stomach -- a light meal can be finished at least two hours before class time. The studio has plenty of mats but you are welcome to bring yours if you prefer it. Please don't wear perfume or any perfumed soaps, lotions, deodorants, oils or aftershaves that your neighbors will pick up on. Also, please come to class clean. You should refrain from excessive physical exercise just before class: Yoga is more than stretching -- it involves strength and concentration too. We look forward to seeing you! |
